Hyderabad University to Conduct Online Admission

University of Hyderabad (UoH) admissions will be conducted online from the next academic year, Appa Rao Podile, the new vice chancellor (VC), announced.


At present, only the finance department of the varsity is partially functioning on e-governance. However,from next academic year, not only admissions but services such as certificate verification, filling of examination forms etc. would go online, said the VC.


The university also plans to introduce Master in Education course from next year."We are in the process of framing the syllabus for the course. Once it is done, the admissions will be open for aspiring students," said Rao.


To improve quality of education and research in various departments, the university will fill up the sanctioned posts invarious departments. "At present, we have more than 420 teachers on campus. However, 100 more teachers will be recruited next year," said Rao.


The VC also promised to strengthen the proctorial board in order to resolve issues related to teachers and students. "It was an unfortunate incident where illegal raids were conducted at a professor's house on campus. The proctorial board will be strengthened so that such incidents don't occur in future," said the VC.
