KLE Society’s P. C. Jabin Science College committed to the cause of Science Education in North Karnataka has traversed a long journey with its own glory since 1957. The dream of its founders has been realized in its present manifestation as a prestigious college for science education and research.
The college provides adequate infrastructural facilities to share and experience the excitement of science.
The institution with highly motivated academic environment, offers courses in Science, Computer Science, Certificate Course, Postgraduate course in three subjects viz Computer Science, Biotechnology and Chemistry, M.Phil and Ph.D. programmes. It has collaborations with National and International research institutions, for exchange of Academic Programmes and Research.
The college was conferred with “AUTONOMY”. Our college has been accredited by NAAC at ‘A’ Level with 3.37 CGPA in the third cycle of accreditation.
Located in the heart of the city in a peaceful locality of Hubli-Dharwad with an area of 8 acres of land, with colonial style main building and sprawling, lush green garden, the college provides adequate infrastructure facilities to share and experience the excitement of Science. The College comprises Science Departments, Administrative Block, Library, Computer Centre, Digital Library, Language Laboratory, Central Research Laboratory, Placement Cell, P G Block, Hostel blocks separately for boys and girls, Play Ground and Medical facilities to students.
The aims and objectives that the college set for itself have been pursued relentlessly. It is keen about quality education, all round development of student and enhancing their employment potentials. The college has now set the target to make its students fully equipped to face the challenges of globalization in all sectors. Developing scientific temper, research culture and nation building are objectives to train the students to become civilized citizens of the country.
The college has been recognized as the Lead College in Total Quality Management in Higher Education. Subsequently UGC gave the status of a College with Potential for Excellence in the year 2006 and CPE continuation phase – II in March 2011. It is the first college in Karnatak University jurisdiction which applied voluntarily for accreditation and got accredited with FOUR STARS in October 1999 and accredited in May 2006 at B++ level by NAAC in the second cycle of accreditation.
In a highly motivated academic environment, it offers education in science, Ph.D programmes, Computer Science, Post Graduate Course and Certificate Courses. Research and quality assessment are the core areas of working. Students and faculty have continually participated in state level, National level and International level conference, seminars, engaging in UGC funded research work. The faculty has Publications in National / International journals. The dedicated faculty are engaged in mechanisms for optimal use of resources to keep pace with the expanding horizons of learning.
The college has NCC unit with 100 boy cadets and 80 girl cadets and NSS unit with volunteers. The college celebrates the important days and festivals of national importance. Members of the staff of our college help the students who are economically backward.
