Scientists from the University of Toronto have developed 3D models of heart and liver tissues that function like real organs using person-on-a-chip technology called AngioChip which is a powerful platform for discovering and testing new drugs. It is a new way of growing realistic human organ systems outside the body, which could eventually be used to repair or replace damaged organs.
