Chennai School of Ship Management (CSSM) was established in the year 1998 as Marine Engineering College, with the approval from the Director General of Shipping, Ministry of Surface Transport, Government of India, vide approval No.3-TR(26)/97. Since inception, CSSM is a college of ultimate excellence for pursuing Marine Engineering. The qualified Marine Engineers of our college are highly sought after among International maritime community evidence high reputation of the college in preparing cadets them with high standards of competency for ready market suitability/acceptability. Quality is at the central focus of all activities of the CSSM to make the cadets achieve pinnacle of perfection in performance.
The college is situated in a spacious 5 acre plot with a build up area of 35,000 sq. ft, mid-way between Vandaloor Kelambakkam Road, at a distance of about 40 Kms., from Chennai. The ambience and environment exactly meets the needs of an educational Institution, which is on a consistent growth trajectory.
CSSM made an indelible imprint in Maritime Education and Training during the last 15 years. The Cadets of our college serving as Engineers with various shipping companies are held in high esteem because of their exemplary professional caliber and this itself speak of the image and reputation, the college commands in the Maritime Industry. As the growth of marine industries and goals set forth in 11th five year plan are substantially high, our mission is to expand in academic and other related marine fields to take a fair share of growth envisaged to contribute in substantive measure to the economic commitment.
